Jenna was admitted to practice law in December 2016 after completing her post graduate degree (Juris Doctor) at the University of Sydney. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Criminology and Psychology) from the University of Ottawa.
Jenna commenced her legal career working primarily in criminal law, before finding a passion for family law and moving to a family law practice in July 2018.
Jenna joined Kyle and McGowan in September 2019 and here teams up with a partner to run our matters in the most efficient and cost-effective way we can for our clients.
Jenna's background in psychology and criminology gives her a solid insight into 'the human condition', essential we believe, to good family law practice where our job is to diffuse high conflict situations and do our utmost to spare our clients and their children the painful (emotional and financial) impact of adversarial court proceedings.
Fortunately for us and our clients, Jenna's legal knowledge and strengths as a negotiator and court advocate accelerated exponentially in her early years of legal practice when she was 'thrown in the deep end' - sent straight to court and handed cases to run from beginning to end. By all reports, Jenna took on those challenges with the courage and zest for hard work we see in her daily practice at Kyle & McGowan.
Jenna has represented clients in complex property settlement matters and parenting matters involving domestic violence, mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, and urgent recovery of children.
